E.S. Wagner Company, LLC was awarded a major subcontract on the construction of the first of two phases of the I-85 Corridor Improvement Project in Davidson and Rowan Counties in North Carolina. The improvements include replacing the I-85 bridge over the Yadkin River, rebuilding the N.C. 150 interchange, and widening over three miles of I-85 from four to eight lanes. The project was constructed under the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Design-Build Program.
To complete the project, E.S. Wagner placed over 1.2 million cubic yards of embankment material, install nearly four miles of new storm drainage, and prepared approximately 320,000 square yards of area to receive new pavement. In addition, over 1000 erosion control features were installed, maintained and then removed to control storm water during construction.
