Critical Infrastructure Complete on the Charlotte-Douglas Runway Project

E.S. Wagner has finished the mass earthwork on both the north and south ends of the Fourth Parallel Runway Project. The completion of this earthwork, which required 3.7 million cubic yards of excavation, allows the installation of critical navigational aid electrical infrastructure, completes the North End Around Taxiway footprint, and facilitates concrete pavement on both ends of the new runway.

Accompanying this mass earthmoving was the installation of 16,000 LF of 72″, 84″ and 96″ reinforced concrete pipe, much of it in excess of 30′ deep. The Fourth Parallel Runway will open to air traffic in September of 2027.
