In September of 2010 ES Wagner Co. LLC was awarded a major subcontract on the first of two phases for the I-85 Corridor Improvement Project, located in Davidson and Rowan Counties, North Carolina. The improvements include replacing the I-85 bridge over the Yadkin River, rebuilding the N.C. 150 interchange, and widening over three miles of I-85 from four to eight lanes. The project is to be constructed under the North Carolina Department of Transportations Design-Build Program. Completion is expected in January of 2013.
To complete the project, ES Wagner will place over 1.2 million cubic yards of embankment material, install nearly 4 miles of new storm drainage, and prepare approximately 320,000 square yards of area to receive new pavement. In addition, over 1000 erosion control features will be installed, maintained and then removed to control storm water during construction.
