E.S. Wagner to Perform $28.69M Repairs to Anthony Wayne Suspension Bridge in Toledo, Ohio

E.S. Wagner Company is the apparent low bidder for the reconstruction of the SR-2 Anthony Wayne bridge over the Maumee River in downtown Toledo, Ohio. Scheduled to begin in 2013 and complete by October 31, 2015, the Ohio Department of Transportation's Project 13-0058 will provide major structural repairs to the 3,215 foot suspension bridge which was originally built in 1931.

Commonly referred to as the "High Level Bridge" by residents, the bridge spans 785 feet and rises 110 feet over the Maumee River. The nearly $28.7M project includes the replacement of the entire concrete deck, two main steel trusses and all of the bridge's expansion joints along with other structural steel and concrete repairs. To facilitate the work, the entire structure will close for 19 months.
